In this live replay, I’m examining the AI-driven hype of today and how we’re being pushed towards a crisis. It’s a bit scary, but it’s something we need to talk about.
Right now, we’re facing a double whammy: water bankruptcy and an AI bubble spiralling out of control. Not to mention, a disturbing new report shows a record number of journalists killed in 2025, with Israel responsible for two-thirds of deaths.
Let me break it down for you. Water bankruptcy—what’s that all about? Imagine living in a world where clean water is so scarce that it becomes a luxury product or a subscription-based commodity. Sounds dramatic?
Well, according to a recent UN report, many places are already using more water than they can replenish. It’s like living on a water credit card with no way to pay it back. And it’s not just happening in far-off places; even countries like the US and the UK are feeling the heat. Hence, I question the current obsession with building more data centres, i.e., the new frontier of the deranged AI bubble.
However, these massive facilities need vast amounts of water to keep cool, and it’s draining our resources faster than you can say “AI.” And, speaking of AI, February marked the most unhinged AI moment yet, in my view. The same old ideas are still being driven by science fiction rather than science fact.
Come on, sending data centres to space and making AI accessible to every single person on the planet? Meanwhile, these projects are consuming water and energy at an alarming rate, putting our environment at risk.
Our planet’s health is on the line, and it’s up to us to make sure we’re not just along for the ride. Join the conversation now.
